Logos 2.0

Tired of “Web 2.0″ yet? Well, it’s good to enjoy it while it’s here, and maybe see how it could apply to some of the more web 1.0 and un-webbed stuff around us.

Some creative design types have taken this idea and imagined what the logos of some non-Web 2.0 companies (and even a few at the heart of Web 2.0) would look like if they were designed in the new stereotype of web application design.

For example, take the Panasonic logo.
Panasonic 1.0

Nice, simple straightforward.

But, with a little bit of web 2.0 flash, you get this:
Panasonic 2.0

Notice the obligatory reflection gradient and how it tapers out at the ends.

Here’s another classic:
Mercedes 1.0

Everyone knows what that means. But, if Mercedes were a startup car company in northern California offering free cars supported by advertising, the logo may look like this:
Mercedes 2.0
mercedesweb2.0 by feisar

Notice the ruby red and light olive green with again the reflection at the bottom of the circle and the text. You can bet there would be some serious Ajax on that website.

You can see the entire collection of these creative Web 2.0-ifications on Flickr with the tag yay2dot0logoparody.

But, here are my two favorites:
chev.ro.let
chev.ro.let by outbreak

and
boeing 2.0
boeing 2.0 by headphonic

Too funny!
